Baby Food Recipes. Lasagna

Yes, you read right. Your baby can enjoy lasagna too – or well a version of it. This puree is delicious and packed with flavour. It can be introduced at around 9+ months once you’ve ruled out any wheat / dairy allergies. Cook all of the ingredients together in a sauce pan, allow to cool and blend until smooth.

Serving Size: 10

Cooking Time: 20 minutes

Ingredients:

  • ¼ of an onion
  • 2 teaspoons of olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon of Italian seasoning
  • 2 tablespoons of tomato paste
  • ¼ cup of carrots, washed, peeled and chopped
  • ½ cup of zucchini, washed, peeled and chopped
  • ¼ cup of pasta, cooked
  • 2 teaspoons of ricotta cheese
  • 1 teaspoon of parmesan cheese
  • Water or chicken stock

Tip:

Cook onion in oil over medium heat in a sauce pan before adding other ingredients.

Add pasta once mixture has begun to simmer.

Baby Food Recipes. Apple and Oats Porridge

Porridge are nice hardy meal options for your growing baby. These are recommended for babies 6+ months. Porridge can give your baby a lot of nutrients while keeping them full. This apple oats porridge is packed with fibre and will kick start your baby’s day with optimum digestive processes.

Serving Size: 1

Cooking Time: 15 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 5 tablespoons of baby oatmeal, cooked
  • ½ of an apple, washed, peeled, chopped and cooked
  • 1/8 teaspoon of cinnamon (optional)
  • ½ cup of water, breast milk or formula

Baby Food Recipes. Brown Rice Porridge

Brown rice cereal is a great morning meal for your baby. Brown rice is good for the heart, it aids in digestion and it lowers the risk of cancer. This porridge/cereal can be introduced to your baby at 5+ months. This should be served warm and of a smooth, liquid consistency.

Serving Size: 2

Cooking Time: 15 minutes

Ingredients:

  • ½ cup of brown rice powder
  • 1/8 teaspoon of cinnamon (optional)
  • 1 cup of water, breast milk or formula

Tip:

Brown rice powder can be made by grounding brown rice in a blender or food processer.

Bring water / milk to a boil and add brown rice powder, stirring occasionally for 10 – 15 minutes. Add cinnamon if used.

Baby Food Recipes. Oatmeal Porridge

Oatmeal porridge is another delicious, hardy porridge/cereal that you can serve to your baby warm. Oats are high in fibre, calcium and protein which are extremely beneficial for your baby’s development. This porridge is recommended for babies 7+ months old. As your baby gets older, you can blend the mixture with apples and cinnamon.

Serving Size: 2

Cooking Time: 15 minutes

Ingredients:

  • ½ cup of ground oats (ground in a blender or food processor)
  • 1 cup of water, breast milk or formula

Tip:

Bring water / milk to a boil and add ground oats, stirring occasionally for 10 – 15 minutes.
